Job Summary

* Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
* Analyze cost of sales, cost trends, identify drivers for cost fluctuations. Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
* Perform Cost Accounting month-end close entries and reconciliations, inventory reporting and analysis * Review and updates standard costs to ensure proper inventory valuation * Analyze work order variances and PPV
* Review excess and obsolete inventory
* Coordinate inventory cycle counting program, investigate variances, and ensure compliance with policies
* Prepare monthly Value Stream financial reports, including P&Ls and related analysis and perform various Value Stream targeted cost analyses
* Compile and analyze diverse and complex account information to provide management with accounting information necessary to make business decisions. Recommends financial actions to management by analyzing accounting options.
* Performs economic research and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, and financial and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and income statements.
* Enhance reporting by streamlining, refining and improving the process and accuracy to assist management in timely business decision-making
* Develop ERP reporting tools and automate reporting using SSRS where appropriate
* Design complex worksheets and/or databases for tracking and reporting
* Develop processes within ERP to ensure the accuracy of information particularly in respect of Sales, Costs and Gross Margins.
* Consult with key business personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems
* Complies with federal and state legal requirements and professional standards. Studies existing and new legislation, enforces adherence to requirements; and advises management on needed actions.


* Bachelor's degree (BS) in Accounting.
* At least 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment in a similar position
* Experience in Aerospace would be a plus, particularly knowledge of FAR and DFARS requirements
* Proficient with automated accounting systems and ERP to support cost accounting. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Published Apps preferred
* Proficient in MS Excel
* Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse concepts and processes
* Experience with reporting, descriptive statistics, probability, and cleaning big datasets
* Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
* Willingness to question the validity, accuracy of data and assumptions
* Curiosity and passion for data, visualization, and solving problems
* Experienced in data analytics and confident in program management planning
* Develops alternative solutions. Works well in group problem-solving situations
* Demonstrated project management skills and proven records of completing projects on time and budget
* Excellent relationship building and superior customer service capabilities in soliciting customer feedback to improve service
* Must comply with ITAR
